Diwali is that time of the year, when spirits soar and shopping rules the roost! India bedecks herself like a blushing bride for the festival of Diwali. Aglow with an inner radiance...as seasons change and summer gives way to a nip in the air, as fields are prepared to sow winter crops, a new year begins.... and India, collectively prepares to welcome the Goddess of wealth, Lakshmi, and usher in the new year at Diwali.

On a personal note, I love the shopping, the celebrations, meeting people and tucking into festive cuisine! Since childhood, Diwali has been synonymous with shopping, new clothes and dressing up! Ever since I can remember, my mother took a particular delight in buying a piece of jewellery every Diwali.
