Singam Review

Singam
Star Cast:
Surya, Anushka Shetty, Prakash Raj, Nassar, Vivek
Direction:
Hari

The much awaited movie Singam is here.

The movie tells us the story of Dhorai Singam (Suriya), fate makes him to come across Mayil Vaaganam (Prakash Raj), who is the villain who provides twists in this movie. Kavya (Anushka), the daughter of tycoon (Nasser) visits the town for her vacations and falls in love with Singam.

Singam is a loud cop, a typical villager at heart who seems to have all the stereotyped mannerisms of a villager. As a cop, he easily untangles the cases that reach his small station in a village near Thirunelveli.

Suriya is amazing in this movie. He portrays Singam’s chartacter so flawlessly that we easily forget that we are watching the same person who portrayed the sophisticated cop in Kaaka Kaaka.

Pretty Anushka plays the usual damsel in distress which is a disappointment for those of us who admired her strong character in the movie Arundhati.
Prakash Raj as usual does an amazing job as the villain. Vivek’s comedy will bring a smile to your face .There are a number of supporting actors like Vijay Kumar who do justice to the story.

Though the film is probably not Hari’s best- it does deliver what it promises. The first half is a little slow but the second half is far more powerful than the first half.
Devi Sri Prasad delivers some chartbusters with some hummable numbers.

Verdict: Suriya fans will not be disappointed.
