With an unusual name like “Barbeque N’ Biryani” I was led more by curiosity than my nose…

Nestled on OMR, this biryani joint comes with an intriguing name to begin with. The interiors are unpretentious and simple, so don’t go expecting a posh restaurant. Here food is their business and nothing else really seems to matter. The servings are large, the service is quick and the food is finger-lickin’ good! 

Order the plain and simple “dum biryani” which is a no-fuss, no-frills biryani cooked in the dum style to lock in and seal flavours. The biryani is perfectly cooked, each grain of rice separate, just as it should be.Enjoy the biryani with dum ki murgi (chicken curry) or mirchi ka salan- both Hyderabadi delicacies. Mughlai chicken is a sinful concoction of saffron, cream, eggs and cashew nuts and definitely not recommended if you are counting calories! Another Hyderabadi delicacy, “Haleem” makes its way on the menu every Friday and every day during the month of Ramzaan. Other delicacies include tomato kat, mutton chops, patthar ka gosht and Nihari.

The BBQ selection includes reshmi, tangdi, seekh and a variety of kebabs and fish / chicken tikka. Well marinated meats are delicately flavoured and char-grilled to perfection. Enjoy the BBQ with a lachedar paratha, butter naan or a rumali roti. Expect to pay between Rs. 250 – Rs. 400 for a sumptuous meal for two.
