The Mother of all Malls….

We bring you the scoop on the first, truly luxe mall in Chennai

Chennai is gently waking up to the mall culture.   But the true mother of all malls is going to be the new Express Avenue, a stone's throw away from Chennai’s main artery; Mount Road.  Chennai-ites await with bated breath,  the opening of international chain stores at the Express Mall.   Louis Vuitton, Mustard and Paul Smith are just some of them… The mall boasts of an eco structure, sprawling across three huge floors of shopping delight.  It claims to be the second largest mall in India.  The mall stretches lazily across 11 acres offering 800000 sq. ft of retail space.  You can indulge in more than mere shopping at this mall: watch out for a boutique hotel, gaming parlors, entertainment hub, health stores and business chambers.  A lot of thought has gone into the design of the mall and navigation inside the mall, to make it customer friendly.  Its strategic location also adds advantage to this mega shopping experience.  The mall is scheduled to open its doors to shopaholics in February 2010.

The mall will have water bodies, cascading waterfalls and a large, well-lit atrium. Sathyam cinemas multiplex will add the entertainment quotient with 8 theaters. The food court will offer an array of cuisines across 50000 sq. ft. There will be enough greenery in this concrete jungle: a landscaped terrace garden, creepers entwined on pillars, flowering shrubs and even trees. There will also be a dedicated area for baby care, so that your tots enjoy being pampered while you shop!
