Shopping “Mall” Style…

Shopping in malls can be quite a pleasure, especially in the hot summer months…

The international experience of shopping in malls extends across all metro cities today. Completely air conditioned, the malls carry all the major Indian and International brands.
Ranging from clothes to shoes to music systems and cars, to hypermarkets for home needs, the malls have it all.

Gurgaon & Delhi have the maximum number of malls- MGF Metropolitan, DT City Centre and Ambience Mall. The last being is the largest mall in India with one km of shopping on every floor, touting top international brands. The other popular malls are the exclusive Emporio and Select Citywalk in Saket, Delhi which also has a flea market which sets up every Wednesday evening.

Chennai boasts of Express Avenue, Ampa Mall and City Centre amongst the top malls to shop. The first ever mall in Chennai was “Spencer’s” which today pales in comparison to these swanky, posh malls of today. Built across 11 acres, Express Avenue Mall with 900,000 sq. ft of shopping is the last word in retail therapy while City Centre offers five floors of a shopping extravaganza!

Mumbai’s top malls include Atria Millennium, Oberoi, InOrbit, Phoenix Mills and Infiniti Mall. When in Phoenix Mills, stop by at “Blue Frog” to unwind with some great live music. Atria Millennium is perhaps the most central mall to visit, with high-end designer stores and eco-products / organic stores. InOrbit is one of the largest malls in S.E.Asia.

Charnock City in Kolkata offers nine floors of shopping while Forum is the latest addition to high-end shopping in the city. Metro Plaza is choc-a-bloc with over 260 shops, frothy fountains, lush greenery and air conditioning to make shopping a real pleasure. Other malls include City Centre in Salt Lake city, Shreeram Arcade and Treasure Island.

Shopping in malls is a comfortable experience with air-conditioning set at a standard 22 degrees and clean washrooms at each end of every floor. Replete with cinema halls, gaming zones, food courts and adequate basement parking, it makes for a stress free shopping experience.
