Soft, comfortable beds with co-ordinated wardrobes, dressers and drawers,sofas you could sink into, with low, fluid coffee tables… the range was amazing !!

We recently relocated from the US of A to Chennai, and needless to say, I was quite at a loss when it came to doing up my home, not knowing what to expect! This was my first foray into Asia. Having been used to international quality and design, I was a bit apprehensive about what would be on offer in Chennai stores.

What came as a pleasant surprise was “ Kian”….when they say “ Kian is not just about furniture, it’s about inspirational lifestyles” they mean it! Contemporary furniture came alive. Slender lines merged with elegant style, making for comfortable furniture.

The range available was amazing! I could find soft, comfortable beds with co-ordinated wardrobes, dressers and drawers. Sofas you could sink into, with low, fluid coffee tables to complete the décor. That was not it! There were bar stools in polypropylene, fiberglass and rubber wood.

I could find easy-to-maintain furniture for the outdoors, a sofa cum bed for my guest room, highly polished lacquer ware bric-a-brac, some interesting lights and tall vases in ceramic / glass! I picked my dining table from the vast range on display. They also have entertainment and bar units as well as sleek but spacious cabinets! And, all this in one store…

I dragged my husband to the store ( of course he was paying for it all!) and he succumbed to the magic of their unbelievable range of office furniture. Kian also specializes in doing the interiors for service apartments, on a turnkey basis. They are also open to dressing up the apartment with soft furnishings as well. As an expatriate in Chennai, I can firmly say, Kian made me feel at home! And I would strongly recommend it to other expatriates moving into Chennai, India
