Delhi’s Legacy…

What first started on the streets of Lahore in 1930, as a kiosk serving tasty fare, later moved onto the footpaths of Delhi’s Connaught Place in 1947…

It started out as Kake da dhaba, and as its popularity increased, it was soon renamed Kake da Hotel. Today Kake da Hotel is part of Delhi’s legacy of good food. A few years later a branch was opened in Panchsheel Enclave to cope with the increasing demand, and thereafter Kake da Hotel also graduated into wedding and corporate catering, parties etc. gracing every event with its signature food. For these special events, they also offer a variety in terms of the menu ranging from South Indian to Rajasthani, Punjabi, Mughlai and even Continental!

The restaurant is best known for its delicious and simple North Indian cuisine and tandoori dishes, quite like what you would sample in a Punjabi home. The menu remains simple till date with perhaps only a few additions since 1930s. Kake da Hotel takes its job seriously, they perfect what they know best and don’t overstep into Chinese or Continental like most other restaurants do. The fare is essentially the staple combination of daal-roti-kebabs.

Take your pick from murgh garlic / malai kebab, reshmi kebab, murgh Afghani and kali mirchi murgh. The in-house signature dishes include shahi paneer, malai kofta, yellow daal tadka and palak paneer. The list of breads includes tandoori roti, lachcha paratha, naan, onion / paneer kulcha, pudina paratha, rumali roti and of course the typically Punjabi, stuffed parathas (aloo / gobi). Their mutton and chicken pulao is also well-known.

Dessert selection is limited to Kake’s Phirni, made with their secret recipe and an absolute must-try! Your other choice includes fruit cream where chunks of fruit float in thick, sweetened cream.
