The festive season is round the corner! We bring you some great ideas to give your table setting that festive look!
Festivals in India are a time for entertaining, celebrating, guests, visitors and most importantly, almost always revolve around food! So how about giving your table a festive look this festive season?
Dish out old dupattas with zari, Benares brocade stoles or yards of silk. Make sure they come in vibrant shades of vermillion, turmeric, saffron, neon pink or maroon. The brighter the better! Drape them across the table to add that touch of festivity, as runners. If the silk piece is too long, knot it on both ends to shorten it and keep it in place. A silk saree with gold buttis will also do the trick!
How about going bananas? Use freshly washed plantain leaves to decorate the table, using them as place mats. Cut them to size and use them to cover the plate or thali. Sweets served on these plates or thalis look very festive and attractive.
A focal arrangement on your dining table made exclusively of fruits looks rather inviting. Stack a pineapple at an angle, surrounding it with apples, oranges, bananas and pomegranates. Add the finishing touch with bunches of cascading grapes.
Floral decorations for the festive season add freshness to the décor. Use fresh flowers like marigolds and roses to add colour to your table. Strands of jasmine placed diagonally not only look attractive, but act as a natural room freshener too! Was a rose and tie it with a gold ribbon onto the edge of the sweets thali.
If you have an idea or two up your sleeve, go right ahead and share it with us.
