Now, if you are a lover of seafood, there’s some good news for you…
Seafood restaurants have acquired the status of specialty restaurants, since there are very few in the country. Now Bangalore boasts of a seafood café, “Blue Fin†which dishes out some delicious fruits de la mer!
Prawn lovers will face a tough choice! The Colaba prawns are smothered in garlic and butter while the Bangkok prawns are drenched in a honey chilly sauce. Serangoon prawns are cooked in oyster sauce with a dash of soy, Chowringhee prawns come with a hint of mustard, and Malpe prawns echo a distinct Konkan flavour. There are fish fillets cooked to perfection in different sauces, but we recommend the Rechado fish fillets cooked in a piquant Goan sauce, with red chillies and vinegar. How about the fish n’ chips ol’ chap? The fillets are fried to crisp perfection, jus’ like back ‘ome! The prawn burger comes with a hint of garlic and mayo with crunchy veggies. The die-hard desi's can opt for the tandoori fish burger or the Indian meal which comes with a curry, rice and paratha. For a quick and wholesome snack there are crab and fish cutlets, shrimp balls, prawn wafers and spring rolls.
The accompaniments include French fries, for those who love their carbs! Take your pick from steamed white rice and the layered and flaky Kerala parantha ( quite like the lachchedar parantha). If you’d like a gravy to mop up the rice with, then ask for the coastal curry, which comes with a creamy coconut base. The menu does not offer the likes of lobster, crab, oysters or other seafood delicacies, however the food is good, the décor is unpretentious and the prices are reasonable!
