Punjabi food has taken over Indian cuisine like no other…
“Punjabi Tadka” in Bangalore has carved a niche for itself in the hearts of local foodies! The unpretentious restaurant lays claim to just one thing- authentic and tasty Punjabi food. Even though Chinese food is on the menu, we suggest you dig your teeth into the tasty Punjabi fare on offer.
They have it all! Bright red tandoori chicken, kadak seekh kebabs, Afghani kebabs and chicken methi tikka make for the perfect starters, whetting your appetite for more. When it comes to the main course, the boneless butter chicken wins hands down. Also worth a try are the chicken do pyaza, chicken / fish hariyali, Peshawri mutton, roghan josh, methi malai mutton and Patiala mutton. The vegetarians have a vast choice from amidst palak paneer, Kashmiri dum aloo, rajma, kaju paneer, gobi matar and mushroom do pyaza. Their signature daals include daal tadka and maa ki daal served with dollops of freshly made white butter.
Their vast range of parathas include the aloo / pudina / methi / chicken/ paneer and egg tava parathas, served hot. The stuffed kulcha, garlic naan, Amritsari naan and missi roti come highly recommended as accompaniments. Just in case you want to try a little of everything, you have the option of choosing from a veg and non veg thali. Wash it all down with a tall glass of chilled lassi, true Punjabi style!
The food is wholesome, the portions are decently large and the ambience is cozy with the accent only on food. Expect to pay approximately Rs.200 per head.
