"Peace Sells... But Who is buying it?" so they say. But the Melange of Dance changed my views on Peace.

Maia Bouthors, Koka Vijayalakshmi and Haleem Shaik enthralled the audience with their fluid dance movements and ended the show with the melange of Dance performance which the three performed together. It was not a fusion of dance but a Melange of two dance forms performed with a lot of care and dedication. It took them an entire 100 days to perfect their performance. It is true that art crosses barriers but art crossing cultures, religion, language and dance forms is truly amazing.

The evening started with a Welcome Dance by Koka Vijayalakshmi and Haleem Shaik. This was followed by Vijayalakshmi giving a solo performance where she depicted Durga Mata. Her facial expressions were so great that one minute she would show anger and the next minute she would show love and affection. She was followed by Maia`s solo depicting the Mother of Christ crying near the cross. Great expressions that showed a mothers pain. Maia movements flowed like water from a spring smooth and graceful.

This was followed by a duet by Haleem and Vijayalakshmi where they performed the love of Radha and Krishna. This was followed by Maia`s second solo based on the music "La Danse Macabre" by Camille Saint Saen which depicts a fantastic night of Sabbath. Haleeem followed with his solo based on the Thillana, great foot movements and furitive glances.

The second part of the show was entirely about the Melange of Dances. Maia and Vijayalakshmi started with salutation to the universe followed by a beautiful and heart warming homage to Goddess Saraswati. It should be clearly seen that they have leant from each other and worked perfectly together as one dance unit. Great performances and a great theme which was conveyed perfectly. "Peace"
