Distinctly French, I would say. As you step into “La Boulangerie” you are greeted by the heady aroma of freshly baked bread. The décor is simple; the place is small and a good choice to dash in for a quick snack or to pick up something interesting for tea. 

Their range of breads is mind-boggling: slender baguettes, sesame bread, brown bread, rye bread, raisin walnut bread, olive bread, garlic bread, multigrain bread and plain walnut bread. The breads are baked fresh everyday, and are a must-try.

If you have a sweet tooth, La Boulangerie is the place to indulge it! Their coconut rocks, French macaroons and financier with pistachios are well recommended. They offer a vast array of cakes too; marble cake, banana cake, chocolate entremet, chocolate mousse verinne, delicious cream filled éclairs, sinful brownies, black forest, chocolate truffle pastries, citric lemon tarts, fruit tarts and petite fours. Butter cream cakes, fresh cream cakes and French Mousselini cakes are baked to order.

You can tuck into some great Quiches at La Boulangerie. Take your pick from leek, mushroom, chicken, tuna or tomato and cheese. They also offer mushroom and chicken vol-au-vents. Or you could settle for the chicken, sausage or veggie flaky puffs, which are pretty filling. Also on the menu are croissants, chocolate rolls, doughnuts, muffins, raisin rolls and almond Viennoiseries.

In a short time, Chennai has seen over 4 outlets mushroom, and their products are also available off the shelf at Nilgiris in Neelangarai. They also undertake orders for birthday cakes and other celebrations.
