Calling All Coffee-holics!

The Cafe attracts college students and executives in the mornings and evenings, and after 8 p.m. it’s a great place for families

When I think of coffee and one of the first thought that pops into my mind is of Coffee Day. The idea of bringing an international coffee experience prompted the 1996 launch of Cyber cafe (by the makers of Coffee Day coffee powder) at .Though the focus was more on Internet browsing at that time, the concept of an exclusive café for drinking coffee gained popularity. The brand is owned by Bangalore-based Amalgamated Bean Coffee Trading Company Ltd. It has more than 50 outlets all over India piercing into even smaller towns like Mangalore and Cochin.
Cafe Coffee Day at Ispahani Centre, Nungambakkam, promises an international cafe experience. Spread over 2,200 square feet, the Cafe offers more than 10 types of hot coffees, 5 types of cold coffees and a variety of teas for tea lovers. International syrups like Hazelnut, Irish cream and English tonic are also available. The range of syrups on the menu changes every month. The three international coffees on the menu (Columbian Juan Valdez, Kenyan Safari and Ethiopian Qawah) are imported and blended to suit Indian tastes. It also has numerous branches across Chennai, and newer ones are in the pipeline as well.

As compared to other Cafes in the city, Cafe Coffee Day is priced on the lower side, starting at Rs. 8 /- for a takeaway to Rs. 30 /-.Pizzas, Burgers, Sandwiches and pastries are also available for those who want something to munch along with their coffee. Also available, are snazzy T-shirts, caps, cruise mugs and, of course, Coffee Day’s very own aromatic Coffee Powder.

If you don`t feel like having your coffee inside the cafe, you can take it in a special takeaway cup. Cappuccino and Latte which cost Rs. 20/- inside the café are only Rs. 8/- for takeaway. Usually there are more of cold beverages sold than hot ones. Some of the cold coffees include - Tropical Iceberg that costs Rs.20 and Caffe Frappe for Rs. 30 and many more interesting coffee combinations. In the Hot Zone area, there is Espresso coffee that just costs Rs. 10 and Cafe Mocha for Rs.25 as well as other varieties.

Its a cool hang-out place where you can sip a mochachillo (Chocolate ice cream mixed with Cappachillo coffee, chocolate syrup, milk (whole or skim) & ice costing 45 bucks!) and listen to pulsating music of your choice thru’ Q-jam at the same time. That’s Cafe coffee day for you!
