Name a woman who doesn’t love jewellery! When it comes to jewellery shopping, the discerning opt for Jaipur Gems in Chennai.

So did I!
On a recent visit to Chennai, jewellery shopping was on top of my to-do list, with an impending wedding in the family. I’m glad I headed straight for Jaipur Gems, for I got a pick of the best on display, found what I was looking for and wasted no time!

The avant garde jewellery line at Jaipur Gems, offers a range of party wear jewellery that is sure to dazzle and captivate! This collection featured great designs in diamonds, coloured stones like tourmalines and sapphires. Almost like signature pieces! There were probably a maximum of two pieces of each, so you can rest assured next time you walk into a party you won’t bump into someone wearing an identical piece! Their designs echo traditional patterns, but with a dash of the modern.

Their craftsmanship is par excellence and the finish is exquisite. What I really liked were the designs. They were traditional, timeless designs which were incorporated into very wearable jewellery. I particularly liked the long chandelier earrings. These were dramatic, but not too heavy to wear for an evening out. In fact, they made a statement by themselves, and one doesn’t have to wear a matching necklace with them. Stand alone earrings look great and add that touch of style to one’s dressing.

Jaipur Gems offers some great kundan sets too. If you are looking for traditional designs in kundan that look glamourous and traditional, but don’t want to pay a hefty amount, then check out the collection they have on display. Twinkling icy kundan, encrusted with deep green emeralds, blood red rubies or night sky sapphires. Some delicate necklaces in kundan come with lace-like edging in pearls.
