This restaurant introduces dim sums to Chennai-ites…

Had your nose led you, perhaps you could have found “White Pepper” easily! Nestled in an obscure corner somewhere near Jayanthi theatre in Adyar, you might just miss it! Determined to explore this new restaurant, we enquired around and finally landed up at this oriental restaurant.

“White Pepper” is all set to introduce the goodness of dim sums to Chennai-ites. Wholesome, nutritious and delicately spiced and steamed, dim sums can become your answer to healthy eating. The dim sums come with an interesting array of sauces: pungent chilly garlic, sweet ginger, coriander, mint, soy and more. Savour dim sums as you chat, dipping each one in a different sauce as you pop them mindlessly! A bite and they are gone. The dim sums just melt in your mouth, leaving behind an aromatic taste of goodness. Wash them down with sips of freshly brewed, warm green tea.

Even though “White Pepper” prides itself on the variety of dim sums they offer, that is not all when you open their culinary trove! The menu also has the usual fare on offer. Their selection of seafood dishes is extensive and the chef assures us, they only cook fresh catch of the day. We tried the mildly flavoured Kung Pao chicken and chilly crab, and both were delicious. The portions were sufficient, even though, not enormous. If you like your Chinese food really spicy, the food at “White Pepper” may be a tad bland for up. Spike it up with the sauces! I thought the spicing was mild yet perfect!

Expect to pay around Rs.200 per head. Good value for money.
