For hundreds of
years, the Irulas tribe existence has depended on snake trails though it
changed its course often. This exhibition of photographs is a record of a
number of ethnographic moments in this tribe’s unique existence. Kutti Revathi
is a Tamil Writer and doctor of Siddha Medicine by profession. With an enlarged
interest in ethnographic study, she recorded her novel experience in these
distinctive photographs

Ajay
Ranganathan, Violinist and Theo Ranganthan, Pianist and Organist are talented
brothers who study music in France at the Conservatoire of Boulogne and
Tours.Despite their young age, they have been awarded many prizes in the past
few years (Concours Hody, Concours Rotary Club, Concours Valetot etc).They have
played in several concerts in France and Poland.
Ajay and Theo
Ranganathan will present a one hour programme of music by Bacj, Mozart,
Beethoven, Winlawski and Chopin. This will be followed by a 30 minute Organ
programme with pieces by Bach and Buxtehude.

In July and
August of 2008, Sharik is touring in India with his trio consisting of two of
India’s most reputed musicians, Adrian D’Souza and Karl Peters. The music will
includeoriginal compositions as well as fresh arrangements and interpretations
from the standard jazz repertoire
Sharik Hasan, born
in 1984, has studied in the Royal School of Music, London and Trinity School of
Music Cambridge. This was the first turning point to take place in his musical
career, as he was instantly drawn to the new dynamic sounds of jazz.
Currently he is a
part of several different groups and projects on the Paris Jazz Scene including
his own quartet for which he has been composing extensively

by Mahesh Dattani has a powerful contemporary resonance as it addresses as
issue of utmost concern to our society. The play presents different shades of
the communalist attitude prevalent among Hindus and Muslims in its attempt to
underline the stereotypes and clichés influencing the collective sensibility of
one community against another.

Organized by the Prakriti Foundation
At Auditorium AFM,
Films on the
subject of Gods, Goddesses, rituals, festivals, pilgrimages, as well as the
occult, major religions of the world and tribal & aboriginal religions will
be screened. This will also include films on beliefs about spirit possession,
sorcery, witchcraft and the evil eye, supernatural affliction and its
treatment, exorcism, or healing ceremonies, medical anthropology, religious
practices and Indian ethno-medicine.
