Kuselan
One of the best films directed by P.Vasu and the ever best performance by Rajnikanth. Superstar would have appeared in many of his previous films in different roles, but he has actually proved himself to be a great actor with this film. However, Pasupathy dominates all throughout film. performance of Meena is so naturalistic and in contrast goes Nayanthara. Her character is more irrelevant to the film. G.V.Prakash could have done a better job and cinematography by Aravind Krishna steals the show.

Dasavatharam
A magnum opus in the career of Kamal Haasan. Performing 10 roles does not alone help for the success, but the gripping storyline by Kamal Haasan does it. K.S.Ravikumar is the man behind the success of presenting the film so commercially. Lots of flaws are more blatant with the make-ups.

Subramaniapuram
An unexpected film at the unexpected time. Hitting the screens between the two biggies of Kuselan and Dasavatharam, the film has really made big at the box-office and a heartily congratulations for the entire team. Director Sasi Kumar shines well as an actor too…

Aayudham Seivoam
A moderate commercial entertainer that can be enjoyed if you watch the film without any expectations. Sundar C does justice to his role and his combo with Vivek is a great attribute makes the film successful.

Kallai mattum kandal
Lyrics: Vaali, Vocals: Hariharan and chorus
All of us are taken to the twelth century when there were only two sects - Vaishnavites and Shaivaites fighting against each other and the
dominance of the Vishnu devotees is challenged when the local king of Chidambaram Kulathunga Chozhan (Napoleon) puts his iron foot down
and is on a spree to put an end to the presence of Lord Vishnu and replace it with Lord Shiva. The instruments have been carefully employed
to give the feel of palaces and temples.

Mukundha Mukundha
Lyrics: Vaali, Vocals: Sadhana Sargam, Kamal Haasan
An ode to Lord Krishna. your feet tapping even the first time you hear the song. What is remarkable about this piece is the very euphonic
combination of the sitar, mrudanga and ghatam. And the humming adds to the soporific mood. Just shows what Himesh is capable of if he
puts his mind to it. The flute has also been expressively used. Sadhana needs some more emotion in her voice.

Kangal Irandaal
Slow and mellow may be the best words to describe this song. The exquisite pain associated with the act of falling in love is so gently conveyed by Thamarai`s lyrics here. "Irulilum paditthida mudigirathe" is finely imaginative, with pleasing flute rendering. Don`t miss out on the second interlude with western instruments which gives a melodious interpretation for the same raga

Cinema, Cinema
Vocals: Shankar Mahadevan & chorus, Lyrics: Vaali
Speaks of the way cinema gives form and shape to long forgotten names and figures ,like Karnan, Kattabomman etc and enriches our imagination. Vaali fondly recalls the employment generated for scores of people by way of group dancing and extras. And the kind of co operation that goes into bringing out a movie. The song also happily revels in the fame achieved by the Superstar, cutting across all layers of society.

Sakhiye
Lyrics: P. Vijay, Vocals: Krish, Bombay Jayashree
Single words moving along the beats create a mild haunting mood. Interludes of orally rendered beats are quite breezy.
